Welcome to Online Computer College
Learning Model: The Online Academy is based on the Community of Practice Learning System (COPLS). This model recognizes the need for an e-learning system that is responsive to the world of learning in natural, informal contexts; incorporates learning characteristics evolving in a high technology society; and produces richer and deeper understanding or learning outcomes. This learning system is designed to situate learning in the problems derived from the context to which the content of learning pertains (real-world learning opportunities) and build bridges between knowledge and action/learning through doing.
Student Support: Each student is paired with a mentor, or expert in the community of practice. Each student's mentor is a highly qualified classroom teacher holding state licensure and expertise in online learning. The mentor serves as a coach or model to the student by prompting and questioning the student, interacting with the student to support learning, and providing feedback on submitted work.

What is Silicon Tech?
Silicon Tech is an e-teaching organisation and was set up by 'Ufe' (University for elearning). In 2007 the Government gave Ufe the task to provide high quality learning for people over the age of 16.
In some years Silicon Tech has become a nationally recognised brand for learning with the largest e-learning network of its kind in the world.
Our objectives
- Reach those with few skills and qualifications who are unlikely to take part in traditional forms of learning.
- Equip people with the skills they need for employability, thereby strengthening the skills of the workforce and increasing the country's productivity.
- Deliver all this innovatively through the use of new technologies.
